Document-heavy case work
Tungsten TotalAgility combines document processing, workflow orchestration and human work. It is a practical candidate for cases that begin with forms, scans, email attachments or other unstructured evidence. The current Tungsten product page describes AI document processing and orchestration across people and systems, and official documentation shows the TotalAgility Designer used to configure forms and application behaviour.
Evaluation scenario
Use a supplier-onboarding or claims scenario with a typed form, a low-quality scan, a missing page and conflicting data. Capture and classify the documents, route uncertain fields for review, request a missing item, apply an approval rule and send the completed record to a downstream system. Re-submit the same pack to test duplicate handling, then correct a field after approval and inspect the retained history.
Capture quality and human review
Define accuracy thresholds, mandatory fields and the evidence a reviewer sees when validating extracted data. Measure straight-through processing separately from cases requiring correction. A high automation rate is not useful if errors are silently accepted. Test handwriting, rotated pages, unfamiliar layouts and protected documents, and record how the product identifies low confidence and preserves the original file.
Workflow and integration design
Map queues, rules, timers, forms, service calls and ownership for every stage. Interrupt a document service and a downstream API, then verify retry, escalation and reconciliation. Check that administrators can identify which cases are affected and resume them without creating duplicate records or losing review decisions. Confirm how deployment packages and environment-specific settings are controlled.
Security, evidence and retention
Test access using case-worker, reviewer, supervisor and administrator roles. Restrict a document and a data field, reassign work and attempt an unauthorised export. The audit record should show captured sources, extracted values, corrections, decisions, process changes and integration outcomes. Define retention and deletion for both source documents and derived data, including temporary files used during processing.
Decision checkpoint
Repeat the scenario with representative document volume and failure rates. Review recognition quality, review effort, queue visibility, deployment choice, operating skills and recovery procedures. Select TotalAgility only if automation reduces manual handling while preserving a defensible link between source evidence, corrected data, case decisions and the records delivered to other systems.
