Asset Panda is cloud asset-management software for recording, tracking and reporting on physical and technology assets. It uses configurable records, barcode and mobile workflows, audits, dashboards and integrations to help organisations account for where assets are, who has them and what changes have occurred.

Details

Configurable asset records

Asset Panda allows teams to adapt asset records, groups and fields to their own equipment and reporting model. Configuration should start with a small, governed schema rather than reproducing every column from an old spreadsheet. Test an item from purchase through assignment, maintenance and disposal, and inspect how required values, attachments, photos and ownership changes are recorded. Identify which fields are controlled centrally and which users may edit.

Field work, labels and audits

Barcode or QR workflows and mobile applications can support receiving, check-out, check-in and auditing away from a desk. A pilot should use the intended labels and devices in real operating conditions. Include poor connectivity, a damaged label, an unauthorised user and a count discrepancy. Measure the time needed to correct an error and confirm that the audit trail shows both the original event and the correction.

Reporting and connected systems

Dashboards, reports and integrations can provide operational views beyond the core register. Validate the definitions behind each report and reconcile a sample with source records. When connecting identity, finance or endpoint data, define direction of synchronisation and correction ownership. Review permissions, SSO options, API access, export controls, retention and the process for retiring a connector without leaving inaccessible data behind.

Evaluation record

Document the approved asset scope, identity rules, required fields, operational owners, source systems, retention, integration boundaries, test exceptions and acceptance measures. Keep fields for pricing, customer size, languages, operating systems and apps blank unless a current official source maps them precisely to the BBS field. Run a time-boxed pilot with a representative asset sample, named data stewards and a written exception log. Compare user actions, audit trail and reports against the present process. At the end, decide whether the product can support the required control model, what configuration or integration work remains, and which measurable result would justify a full rollout. Keep the pilot evidence in a decision record that another administrator can replay, including sample source files, permission settings, expected reports, failure handling, sign-off owners and the plan for migration, training and post-launch review.
